活動緣由 REASON FOR THE RALLY
「尊重自由民主，維護人權生命，反抗惡霸集權，推動世界和平，捍衛獨立台灣」
本活動目的除了感謝美國國會議長出訪台灣，清楚表明美國對民主和獨立台灣的支持，我們在美國的台灣人們還要針對中國近日在包括台灣領海在內的周遭海域進行實彈軍演，主導片面企圖恐嚇台灣的攻擊侵略行為，一起向中國提出最嚴正的抗議！
這場活動由「大華府」及「大洛杉磯地區」台灣同鄉的原始發起，全美台灣同鄉會響應，在大洛杉磯地區由台灣人公共事務會（FAPA）洛杉磯分會及大洛杉磯台灣會館（TAIWAN CENTER of GREATER LA）號召各地台灣同鄉，在8/14這天聯合台派社團及友台人士們共同在駐洛杉磯中國總領事館前面大聲嗆聲，以行動捍衛咱的台灣!
“Respect freedom and democracy, safeguard human rights and life, resist bullying and tyranny, promote world peace and defend independent Taiwan.”
The purpose of this event is to expressively thank the members of the U.S. Congress who visited Taiwan, they demonstrated America’s support for a democratic and independent Taiwan, and we Taiwanese Americans also want to voice our strongest anger and disapproval against China’s recent live-fire military exercises in Taiwan’s territorial waters. This invasive act of aggression by China aims to intimate the free loving Taiwanese people and the entire free world who share the same value with democratic Taiwan.
This rally is initiated by the Taiwanese Americans in the Greater Los Angeles and Greater Washington DC, endorsed and supported by the Taiwanese American Association(TAA), the organizers Formosan Association for Pubic Affairs (FAPA) Los Angeles and Taiwan Center Foundation of Greater Los Angeles wish to call on Taiwanese and friends of Taiwan from all over the world to join forces with us and protest loudly in front of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles on 8/14 and defend our beloved Taiwan with action!
